University of Messina

Following the renovation and reorganization of the internal spaces of the Department of Ancient and Modern Civilizations at the University of Messina, it became necessary to implement a new functional layout of the environments to effectively meet the evolving needs of both academic and administrative users.

To ensure optimal usability and clear wayfinding within the facility, it was essential to equip the buildings with an effective directional signage system, consistent with the University’s visual identity and the newly configured spaces.

Ikon Segnali oversaw the supply and installation of the internal and external signage system, based on the MERIDIO line, designed to ensure clear, functional, and coordinated visual communication. The project included the implementation of:

  • Directional signage to guide pedestrian flow;
  • Identification plaques for offices, classrooms, and common areas;
  • Informational totems and orientation maps;
  • Custom elements integrated with the existing architecture.

The intervention aimed not only to enhance the user experience within the Polo Annunziata campus, but also to contribute to a modern, accessible, and well-organized image of both the Department and the University as a whole.
