Cattolica University – Cremona

The Cremona campus of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart is located within the former Santa Monica Monastery, a prestigious historic complex that has been skillfully renovated to house the university’s new campus. The architectural project, which merges tradition and contemporary design, called for a signage system capable of complementing the space while ensuring clear information flow and respect for the site’s historic and artistic context.

Ikon Segnali was responsible for the supply and installation of the internal and external signage system, based on the CARTESIO and CARTESIO PAPER-MANAGED SYSTEM lines, designed to deliver clear, consistent, and easily updatable visual communication.

Key features of the intervention:

  • Harmonious integration of the signage system with the architecture of the monastic complex;
  • Use of aluminum modules for permanent information and paper-managed modules for frequently updated content, ensuring flexible communication management;
  • Clear identification and signage of entrances, main routes, and functional areas of the campus (classrooms, offices, study rooms, laboratories);
  • Full alignment with the University’s visual identity and wayfinding needs for students, staff, and visitors.

This project contributed to making the new campus a welcoming, accessible, and well-organized environment, in line with the architectural quality and educational excellence that distinguish the Cremona campus.
