The Istituto Ortopedico Gaetano Pini is one of the historic healthcare institutions in the city of Milan and is part of ASST Gaetano Pini-CTO, together with the CTO Hospital and the Fanny Finzi Ottolenghi Center. It has long been a national reference point in the fields of orthopedics and rehabilitation.
Since 2020, the facility has undertaken a major renovation program aimed at humanizing hospital spaces, making them more welcoming, functional, and easier to navigate for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff. The project was developed following the concept created by Emmevistudio Architetti of Turin and in compliance with new regional regulations concerning hospital bed mapping and identification.
Our work involved the creation of a coordinated system of wall graphics and custom signage designed to improve wayfinding, visual identity, and the overall quality of the environment.
All common areas and elevator lobbies on each floor were enhanced with graphic themes inspired by the city of Milan, transforming corridors and transition spaces into more pleasant, recognizable, and welcoming environments. A project that combines visual communication, functionality, and a people-centered approach.
