Camplu Udine Manin – Udine

Located in the historic heart of Udine, Camplus Udine Manin is housed within a recently renovated historic building, strategically positioned near the city’s main university and cultural sites. The residence is just a short walk from the humanities campus and close to the economics and law institutes, offering students direct access to both academic and urban life in the Friulian center.

With a capacity of about 160 beds in single and double rooms equipped with kitchenettes and functional spaces, the facility provides modern housing solutions within a prestigious architectural setting, preserving the building’s historical character.

Within this dynamic urban and social context, the signage project developed for the residence interprets and enhances students’ daily experience, blending functionality with a visual identity consistent with the quality of Camplus spaces and services. The intervention involved every level of the building—from the basement to the residential floors—through a comprehensive wayfinding system that guides students and visitors across common areas, study spaces, elevators, corridors, and rooms.

The project includes:

  • Institutional external plaques in gold anodized aluminum with engraved text
  • Graphics in adhesive film (glossy and sandblasted effect) for entrances and glass surfaces
  • Wall-mounted directional signage in laser-cut black acrylic with pictograms and applied arrows
  • Totems and elevator panels with plexiglass spacers to create a sense of lightness and depth
  • Raised room numbering in black acrylic for immediate and consistent identification across all floors
  • Customized emergency floor plans integrated with fire department guidelines
  • Wall graphic elements and informational supports for each room

The typographic and color system was designed to ensure consistency across more than 600 installed elements, with particular attention to readability, contrast, and material durability.

The result is a coordinated and functional project where aesthetics and orientation are seamlessly integrated, contributing to the contemporary and welcoming identity of the Camplus residence.
