As part of a general restyling initiative, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – Piacenza campus undertook the replacement of the previous internal signage system of the QUADRO line, originally installed in 2002, with a new wayfinding project.
The project, managed by Ikon Segnali, included the supply and installation of a new signage system based on the CARTESIO and CARTESIO GESTIONE CARTA lines, with the goal of enhancing readability, information updatability, and user orientation within the facility.
The main features of the intervention included:
- Color-coded differentiation of faculties and shared services to enable immediate visual recognition of paths;
- Clarification of access routes and clear identification of the main stairwells;
- Installation of two informational totem islands at the building’s two main entrances;
- Use of aluminum modules for permanent information, combined with paper-management modules for content subject to frequent updates, ensuring flexibility and autonomy in managing internal communications.
This intervention has enhanced the image of the university campus, making it more modern, accessible, and functional—aligned with current needs in internal communication and visitor reception.
