A wayfinding project requires a careful analysis of spaces and pathways with the systematic and analytical collection of all information. A description of the context focused on functional requirements and potential problem areas in order to develop a way showing strategy for pathways and possible solutions that make orientation simple, understandable, practical, and rational. Customized solutions must integrate architecture, graphic design, and furnishings.
Design
From shape to materials, from graphics to colors
A signage system is effective when positioned where it’s needed to be noticed and it can be read and understood. The choice of materials and the overall graphic and chromatic project leads to optimal results in the orientation process. Our products are designed and developed with computerized 3D simulations to assess both technical and aesthetic aspect. The subsequent prototype realization verifies the object’s actual compliance with initial specifications and refines the design in order to produce a mature and reliable product.
Production
Control and quality standards
We carefully select raw materials and manufacturing processes, entrusting most of the processing (profile extrusion, painting, moulding of parts through die-casting or injection) to qualified Italian suppliers capable of meeting our quality standards. Each semi-finished product is checked upon arrival, and assembly only proceeds after a positive outcome. The signs graphics are always produced in-house by our operators using adhesive films and digital printing with eco-friendly water-based inks.
Assembly
Every signage support in the right place
Signs can be mounted in different ways, each with its own characteristics, advantages, and limitations. Most methods can be used both indoors and outdoors. The installation will follow the graphic /schematic projects of the signage systems to be adopted where the type, quantity and position of the signs are indicated.
The installation phases, whether scheduled or related to maintenance and extraordinary modifications, are particularly delicate stages of work concerning the safety of operators and people present. These operations are preceded and supported by pre-signage and information actions to passers-by.
Assistance
Extraordinary maintenance
Where required, damaged or worn supports, either due to the passage of time or acts of vandalism, are evaluated periodically. Additionally, new critical points emerging from the daily experience of the places are analysed. Subsequently, IKON Segnali provides for the maintenance of the systems with specific restoration activities, including the removal or addition of signage supports, to ensure the overall quality standard of the orientation system.
